Abstract
Twelve moss species are reported for the first time from Farafra Oasis (Western Desert of Egypt). Eight of them
belong to Bryum of which Bryum inclinatum is a new record to Egypt. The number of mosses known from the
Oases territory is raised from 15 to 23 species. Floristic comparisons show more elements in common with
Northern Africa and Sinai than with the Nile Region.
