The indigenous taxa of Scrophulariaceae represented in the flora of Egypt were systematically revised. This revealed the presence of 50 species belonging to 16 genera, 8 tribes and 3 sub-families. Kickxia gracilis, K. pseudoscoparia, Scrophularia sinaica, Veronica scardica and V. rubrifolia are new records to the flora of this country. For each species, valid name, synonymes (if any), type, distribution (local and global) and selected specimens are given. A key for the genera of the family, keys for species belonging to genera with more than one species; and for the infra-specific taxa of polymorphic species are provided
